April 11th saw the return of The Sandhills Dog Fair at The Pinehurst Arboretum after a year’s absence. The PRC has been a participant in this event since its inception in downtown Aberdeen. Wendy and Gus, Suzie and Beanie, Wynne and Noel, and Julia and Cody were a strong draw to our booth! Many PRC volunteers and their dogs stopped by to see us; it was a warm and happy reunion event.
A number of students and parents stopped by. One couple stayed to chat. Their children were grown. The mom said, “I get goosebumps when I think of your program! Both my kids had Pet Responsibility. It was a long time ago, at Vass-Lakeview. Their teacher was an English woman (Rachel Trahern who passed away over 10 years ago). It was very important to them. Thank you!”
